Safety Performance Analyst

About the role

Our team is responsible for assessing the safety of our autonomous vehicles. We work with real-world driving data, simulation, and engineering teams to answer questions like: Is our autonomy safe enough to deploy? Where does it fail? How is it improving over time? We design the frameworks and taxonomies used to classify safety-critical events, review thousands of such events from on-road and simulated driving, and turn them into structured signal that engineering and product teams act on. The output of our work directly informs deployment readiness decisions across the locations where we operate. We are looking for a Safety Performance Analyst who will help us measure and improve the safety of our autonomous vehicles. You will review safety-critical events from real and simulated driving, classify them using our internal framework, and turn raw events into a signal that drives engineering and product decisions. Beyond reviewing events, you will help shape the framework itself - the taxonomies, criteria, and processes we use to evaluate AV safety. The role suits someone who is comfortable spending hours looking at driving scenes one by one, and at the same time wants to think about how to make that work scale.
