Upper class college students or graduate students preferred.
Experience working with high school students in tutoring, mentoring, or youth programs.
Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
Ability to supervise and support a group of college student mentors.
Commitment to supporting low-income and first-generation students.
Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced summer program environment.
Familiarity with Upward Bound and/or TRIO programs is a plus.

Position Summary
The Lead Summer Mentor / Tutor Counselor provides supervision and coordination for Upward Bound summer tutor mentors and supports daily program operations. This role focuses on mentor leadership, communication, and program implementation to ensure a safe, organized, and engaging summer experience for participating high school students.
The hourly pay rate is $20
Duties and Responsibilities:
Participate in staff orientation. Full participation is a condition of employment.
Supervise Upward Bound tutor mentors during daily summer programming.
Conduct regular check-ins and weekly meetings with tutor mentors.
Provide guidance, coordination, and support to undergraduate mentor staff.
Monitor mentor attendance, engagement, and responsibilities.
Support planning and onsite supervision of field trips, workshops, and special events.
Assist with program setup, transitions, and daily operations as needed.
Communicate regularly with Upward Bound staff and administrative leadership.
Enforce Upward Bound expectations, policies, and safety procedures.
Carry out additional duties as assigned by Upward Bound leadership.
