Attend and actively participate in all Aeronautical Science Department meetings, functions, and events to ensure coordination between academic and flight operations. Represent the Flight and Aeronautical Science Departments in meetings with students, families, internal stakeholders, regulatory agencies, and industry partners. Serve as the departmental lead for the Quality Management System (QMS/OMS), ensuring alignment with internal and external standards for safety, performance, compliance, and continuous improvement. Coordinate internal audits, corrective action tracking, and quality review processes. Serve as the FAA-designated Chief Ground Instructor for all FAA-approved ground schools operated by the department. Ensure strong communication and operational alignment between the Flight Department and the Aeronautical Science Department, particularly in support of curriculum integration, academic advising, and instructor-student coordination. Perform other duties as assigned by the Dean. Requirements
- Required Education and Qualifications:
- Master's degree in aviation, aerospace, business, education, or a related field from an accredited institution.
- FAA Advanced or Instrument Ground Instructor Certificate required; eligibility to serve as FAA Chief Ground Instructor required.
- Demonstrated experience in FAA Part 141 flight training operations and regulatory compliance.
- Leadership and supervisory experience in an aviation, academic, or flight training environment.
- Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
