Infrastructure Engineer

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain cloud and on-premises infrastructure that supports multiple Global Payments platforms.
• Perform system administration and troubleshooting for Linux and Windows environments.
• Participate in incident response, root cause analysis, and problem resolution.
• Carry out patching, lifecycle management, and routine maintenance tasks.
• Execute changes, upgrades, and deployments with a focus on stability and compliance.
• Collaborate with Platform Engineering to test and adopt new technologies.
• Follow operational processes (Change, Incident, Problem, and Service Management).
• Participate in an on-call rota to provide 24/7 support for critical systems.
• Contribute to documentation, knowledge sharing, operational handovers and process improvements.
• Required Skills & Experience
• Strong experience in Linux system administration (Windows exposure a plus).
• Practical experience supporting infrastructure in production environments (GCP/AWS/Azure)
• Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code tools (Terraform, Ansible).
• Solid troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Experience with patching, lifecycle management, and monitoring.
• Preferred Skills & Technologies
• Scripting (Python, Bash, PowerShell).
• Cloud platforms: GCP, Azure, AWS.
• Containers: Kubernetes, Docker.
• CI/CD exposure: Git, Jenkins.
• Experience working in regulated or PCI-compliant environments.
• Understanding of ITIL processes and service management.
