Prepares and portions food items such as desserts, grab-and-go items, and condiments
Stocks and replenishes food, beverages, utensils, and supplies using FIFO practices
Maintains clean, organized, and sanitary work areas
Assists cooks and service staff during meal preparation and service
Performs dishwashing and sanitation duties
Monitors and records food and equipment temperatures
Ensures service areas are fully stocked and ready for meal service
Provides excellent customer service to patients, staff, and visitors
Assists with cafeteria, salad bar, and patient meal services as needed
Completes cleaning tasks and supports inventory/stocking needs
Follows all safety, sanitation, and infection control procedures
Typical Shift Workflow (Example)
5:45-6:45 AM: Set up service areas, check temperatures, stock trays, and prepare grab-and-go items
6:45-8:00 AM: Restock supplies, assist breakfast service, support kitchen staff
8:00-10:00 AM: Cleaning tasks, prep work, and break coverage
10:00-11:00 AM: Dishwashing, prep for lunch service, restocking
11:00 AM-1:00 PM: Support lunch service (salad bar, stocking, customer service)
1:00-2:00 PM: Cleaning, restocking, and closing tasks
Shift times and duties may vary based on departmental needs.
Requirements
Required:
Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
Basic computer skills
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Effective communication and interpersonal skills
Preferred:
1 year of healthcare or food service experience
ServSafe or Food Handler certification
Food prep, customer service, or barista experience
Work Environment

Requires standing, walking, and frequent movement
May involve lifting and handling food service equipment
