POSITION SUMMARY The Residential Building Engineer is responsible for the operation, maintenance, and repair of building systems including HVAC, MEP, and related infrastructure in a residential environment. This role ensures high service standards by responding to maintenance requests promptly and overseeing external vendors. Professional, courteous interaction with residents, guests, and team members is essential. ESSENTIAL FUNTIONS Respond promptly to maintenance requests from residents, management, and internal departments (e.g., Security, Food & Beverage, Entertainment). Prioritize tasks and communicate updates to the Engineering Supervisor or Manager. Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and appliance issues, including commercial kitchen and residential equipment. Perform routine preventive maintenance on HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and architectural systems. Adjust and maintain HVAC systems to ensure comfort and energy efficiency. Manage chemical treatment and testing for heating and cooling systems; report anomalies. Maintain accurate logs and records including meter readings, maintenance forms, service requests, and inventory reports. Ensure compliance with all applicable safety, health, and environmental regulations. Assist in the training and onboarding of new engineering team members. Maintain the cleanliness and functionality of all MEP systems and mechanical areas. Supervise and coordinate third-party contractors and vendors as needed. Perform all other duties as assigned. POSITION QUAFLIFICATIONS Intermediate knowledge of electrical, mechanical, HVAC, and plumbing systems. Proficient in using hand and power tools, meters, and diagnostic equipment. Ability to read technical manuals, schematics, and utility meters. Strong troubleshooting skills with mechanical and electrical systems. Basic computer proficiency and ability to use work order management systems. Excellent communication and customer service skills. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. POSITION REQUIREMENTS High school diploma or equivalent. 4+ years of building maintenance or construction experience in residential or hospitality settings. Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience with commercial HVAC systems. EPA Universal 608 Certification (preferred) WORK ENVIORMENT The schedule for this specific role with our Engineering Team is Monday through Friday 9am to 5:30pm. One Must be available to participate in a rotational on-call schedule for urgent building or system-related issues during off-shift hours. Ability to maintain balance and mobility, including climbing ladders and working on narrow or uneven surfaces. Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and reach in multiple directions. Ability to stand and walk for extended periods and move between work locations. Ability to push, pull, lift, and carry materials; heavy work may involve exerting up to 100 lbs occasionally, 50 lbs frequently, and 20 lbs constantly. Ability to grasp and handle tools, materials, and equipment. Bedrock is an in-person, five-day-a-week workplace. All team members are expected to work on site Monday through Friday during standard business hours, unless otherwise specified by their role or designated shift. Must be available to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
