THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION. This National Guard position is for a Range Operations Manager (Title 32) (Indefinite), Position Description Number D1130000 and is part of the VA MTC, National Guard. NOTE: Qualifications are based on breadth/level of experience. WHO CAN APPLY: GROUP I - All qualified Male/Female Commissioned Officer (O2/1LT - O4/MAJ) currently employed (permanent) in the Virginia Army National Guard Military Technician Program. GROUP II - All qualified Virginia Army National Guard Male/Female Commissioned Officer (O2/1LT - O4/MAJ) regardless of employment status (Traditional, Military Technician or AGR). Military Grades: Commissioned Officer (O2/1LT - O4/MAJ) GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Applicant must have experience serving as a Range Operations Manager with responsibility for live fire training facilities and impact areas; serving as an advisor on all matters pertaining to the use of training center range facilities; and maintaining responsibility for the conduct and safe firing of live ordnance. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicant must have at least 12 months of specialized experience, equivalent to at least the GS-09 level, or equivalent pay band in other pay systems in the Federal government? This experience may also have been obtained in the private sector but must demonstrate that it is comparable to the GS grade indicated. This experience must include activities such as: Experience being responsible for the timing, coordination, and safety of combined arms firing exercises which involves armed aircraft, maneuvering, mounted and dismounted types of indirect and direct fire. Experience planning, directing, and/or managing range activities. Experience planning and scheduling work, setting and adjusting short-term priorities, and preparing work schedules. Experience managing an extensive maneuver complex and multiple live-fire ranges.
