POSITION SUMMARY:
Work effectively in a cross-functional team environment
Receive, verify, label and prepare clinical specimens for testing and shipping
May be required to register patient samples and request tests in the LIS, and perform non-complex sample processing
Provide service coverage for meals, breaks, vacation and sick leave as required.
Comply with / adhere to health and safety guidelines which include the practice of universal precautions
Perform all duties in accordance with the standards outlined in the laboratory quality assurance program
Show initiative and assist co-workers in timely sample processing
Assist in the instruction of medical laboratory students, residents and other health care workers as required
Perform other duties as assigned
