Responsibilities

  • Adhere to all safe operating procedures related to being a licensed powered industrial truck operator.
  • Safely operate levers and pedals to drive reach truck and control movement of lifting apparatus and load.
  • Ensure equipment batteries are plugged in to recharge at breaks, lunches, and end of shift.
  • Scan bar code labels; locate, pull, consolidate, move, and replenish cartons and pallets.
  • Work cross-functionally in other departments as needed, including but not limited to, working as a Material Handler I and/or Material Handler II.
  • Demonstrate safe working practices in all facets of work.
  • Train new or less experienced staff members as needed.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience as a certified powered industrial equipment operator and experience with RF and WMS technology preferred.
  • Must be able to satisfactorily complete powered industrial equipment training and maintain equipment license.
  • Physical Demands:
  • Frequently walk and stand; use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms.
  • Grip battery plug-in connections multiple times per shift to recharge equipment batteries.
  • Frequently grab, lift, carry, stack, and/or move materials and products weighing up to 40 pounds.
  • Occasionally climb up to two flights of 10-inch stairs.
  • Operate wrapping machine, pneumatic and banding equipment, and RF scanner.
  • Meet specific vision requirements, including close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, hand-eye coordination, and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Must pass a vision test.
  • Work Environment:
  • Frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts.
  • Occasionally exposed to extreme cold and/or extreme heat.
