Licensed Professional Engineer in CA or have the ability to obtain licensure through reciprocity within 6 months of employment.
15+ years of progressive water/wastewater engineering experience including the planning, design, and construction of municipal water/wastewater conveyance and pumping projects, including new construction in public right-of-way, rehabilitation/renewal, and public right-of-way utility relocation.
Experience in preparation of engineering proposals for submission to clients, and in business development.
Experience in managing and/or delivering projects by "alternative delivery" approaches including design/build, progressive design/build, and construction management at risk.
Ability to communicate and coordinate effectively with diverse audience groups including clients, the public, regulatory staff, subconsultants, and internal technical staff.
Demonstrated project management fundamentals and a proven track record of providing technical leadership to successfully deliver water and wastewater projects.
Experience supervising other engineering professionals, and strong staff development, mentoring and management skills.
Must have a proven track record of leading technical engineering and successfully delivering water and wastewater projects, resulting in securing additional projects from clients.

The Water Business Line of AECOM is actively seeking a creative, highly talented Water/Wastewater Conveyance Technical Leader/Senior Project Manager, with a focus on water/wastewater infrastructure design, with in-depth design engineering experience in municipal public right-of-way conveyance and pumping systems, for immediate employment in our Orange County or Los Angeles County offices.
This technical leadership role within AECOM offers an exciting opportunity to focus on a mix of client business growth, technical leadership in municipal conveyance design, project delivery leadership, and mentoring of developing engineering staff by leveraging top-notch regional and national water/wastewater engineering expertise and capabilities to expand AECOM's Orange area business.
The appropriately qualified applicant will be a seller/doer and have the opportunity to manage and work with an established team of professional engineers on a variety of water, wastewater, and stormwater design projects including gravity collection and distribution pressurized pipelines, pumping stations, water/wastewater treatment facilities, and storage systems. The applicant will have the opportunity to provide engineering leadership on a mix of municipal, state, and federal projects.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Collaborate with regional and national AECOM experts in the Water Business Line and across business lines to bring cutting-edge solutions and teams to our clients and to seek new municipal business opportunities with existing clients.
Work with senior technical staff and marketing staff to deliver winning proposals.
Serve as Client Services Manager for select clients.
Conduct planning and staff meetings.
Oversee the successful delivery of technical work.
Serve as Seller/Doer, Project Manager, and technical lead for the planning, design, permitting and construction of water/wastewater conveyance and pumping projects, including new construction, rehabilitation/renewal, and public right-of-way utility relocation.
Oversee project elements including reports, hydraulic models, calculations, drawings, construction plans and specifications, permitting packages, and construction phase engineering services.
Perform project management activities including coordination with clients, sub-consultants, regulatory agencies; scope, schedule, and budget development; project team coordination; interdisciplinary coordination; budget and schedule tracking; invoicing; and payment of consultants and contractors.
Supervise and mentor junior staff and provide professional growth opportunities for team members - with a focus on water/wastewater conveyance.
Demonstrated leadership skills, and ability to successfully direct multi-disciplinary teams.
Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in civil or environmental engineering, or related field, and a minimum of 10 years of progressive water/wastewater engineering experience including the planning, design, and construction of municipal water/wastewater conveyance and pumping projects, including new construction in public right-of-way, condition assessment and rehabilitation/renewal, and public right-of-way utility relocation and or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
Must be a licensed Professional Engineer.
Valid U.S. Driver's License and must be able to pass AECOM's Motor Vehicle Records review.
