Responsibilities

  • Responsible for accounting and presentation of investments according to GAAP, IFRS and statutory standards.

  • Understands and supports the accurate presentation of derivatives on the financial statements. Understands categorization from general ledger to financial statements and required disclosures per basis.
  • General ledger presentation includes implementation of all guidance related to derivatives including reviews of general ledger results and reconciliations monthly.
  • Prepare monthly reconciliations in Blackline, including creating support for reconciling items
  • Assists with implementation of new or updates to guidance/policy. Assists with F/S documentation and disclosure support. May be requested to review F/S or disclosures.
  • Works to support investment reporting teams in their preparation of F/S. Prepare and/or support F/S, regulatory, or managerial reporting efforts monthly and quarterly.
  • Responsible for responding to and assisting with audits on investments includes financial audits, regulatory audits, internal audits etc.
  • Periodically reviews set up for investments system for investments and GL feed. Test new investment system releases for all processing for investments.
  • Participates/assists with new system implementations. Transaction, monthly pricing, security SMF set up oversight and control - daily/monthly/quarterly.
  • Special Projects as assigned
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance required
  • 4-6 years of related accounting experience; Investment experience preferred

The Senior Analyst, Derivatives Investment Accounting will be a key member of the Derivatives Accounting team and will be responsible for accurate and timely accounting for investments and investment programs on an IFRS, USGAAP, STAT basis along with financial statement reporting support, regulatory reporting support and managerial reporting support. Accounting encompasses: Implementation of accounting guidance and policy; Investment system set up review, monitoring transaction set up and processing oversight monitoring and maintenance of investment system feed to general ledger and other systems used for reporting support (IRDB, BRDB, GRDB). Financial statement and regulatory reporting support encompasses legal entity/reporting entity level review and analysis of accounting for investments. Managerial reporting support encompasses portfolio / line of business metric review of accounting for investments.
