Requirements
Required:
Ability to communicate with clarity and professionalism.
Comfortable using email, Microsoft Word and Excel
Preferred, but not required:

Previous experience and training in animal care and husbandry and other cleaning tasks.
AALAS certification at any level is preferred.
Knowledge of animal care within the context of biomedical research or veterinary care.
Physical Requirements:
Able to occasionally lift 50 pounds.
Able to push and pull carts without accommodation.

Job Summary:
The Animal Caretaker is responsible for the monitoring and care of animals and supports the Biology, Psychology, Animal Behavior, and Neuroscience Programs. Animal care at Bucknell is a necessary and critical component that allows Bucknell to be in full compliance with Federal Regulations regarding animal housing and care.

Reports to the Animal Caretaker Manager.
Work Setting/Work Schedule:
This position requires an on-campus presence.
Exposure to laboratory animals and their waste products.
This is non-exempt (hourly), non-benefits eligible job.
Must be available to work weekends and holidays.
Hours of work approximately 10 - 20 hours per week.
