The engineer will be responsible for designing and creating detailed electrical schematics, panel layouts, and documentation for mobile robotics, industrial automation, testing rigs and electrical systems. Key responsibilities also include implementing and wiring electrical cabinets and harnesses, collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure designs meet project requirements and industry standards, selecting components, developing Bills of Materials (BOMs) and troubleshooting electrical issues throughout the project phases. This role includes, among others: EPLAN Design: Use EPLAN software (Pro Panel and Harness ProD) to create comprehensive electrical schematics, control panel layouts, and wiring diagrams. Hands-on Wiring: Implement wiring for testing rig cabinets, build prototype cable and perform cable modifications. Component Selection: Specify and select electrical components such as motors, sensors, connectors, and cables based on project requirements. Collaboration: Work closely with mechanical engineers, project managers, and production teams to ensure electrical systems align with overall project specifications. Compliance & Quality: Review and validate electrical designs to ensure compliance with safety standards, industry regulations, and project requirements. Problem-Solving: Troubleshoot electrical issues that arise during the testing and commissioning phases of projects. Documentation: Prepare detailed documentation, including Bills of Materials (BOMs), cable lists, and I/O lists for electrical systems and machines. Knowledge, Skills and Experience Essential EPLAN Software Proficiency : Expertise in using EPLAN for electrical design and documentation is a primary requirement. Electrical Design Principles : A strong understanding of electrical systems, circuit design, and automation technology. Attention to Detail: Meticulous attention to detail is crucial for creating accurate and error-free electrical designs and documentation. Lab equipment: Familiarity with standard test and measurement laboratory equipment (oscilloscopes, multimeters, power supplies, signal analyzers, etc) Communication Skills : Clear and effective communication is vital for collaborating with various teams and stakeholders. Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English Analytical & Problem-Solving Skills : Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities are needed to address technical challenges and optimize designs. Project Management Awareness: An understanding of project management principles Desirable PLC Programming Good familiarity with computer-aided design (CAD) software is desirable. Familiarity with IPC/WHMA-A-620, UL508A, IEC 61439, ISO 13849
