Engineering technicians are critical to the BETA mission, ensuring Batteries are designed, built, and tested appropriately to support R&D, flight testing, and other validation needs. As the design develops, engineering technicians will be responsible for rapidly understanding and adjusting to new developments while maintaining quick assembly turnaround. The engineering technician will be Involved In the full cycle design process from concept evaluation, building test articles, production support, field and test failure analysis, flight test support, and logistics support. The needs of this role will have you working between several BETA locations (Burlington, St. Albans, and Plattsburgh). Every day will be different and flexibility and adaptability are required. How you will contribute to revolutionizing electric aviation: Hands-on assembly or repair of batteries including redlining engineering drawings and creating build records Perform testing, validation, troubleshooting, and manufacturing processes in concert with design engineers Build test articles and maintain shop facilities Assist editing and implementing technical documentation Performing in-process quality inspection tasks, feeling comfortable identifying and raising concern about process deviations and being integral part of any troubleshooting efforts to solve them Review test and field data to make deterministic evaluations of hardware or software performance Develop your expertise concerning electro-mechanical assembly of fully electric propulsion systems Be trained to act as a flight test subject matter expert for prototype batteries Respect and foster a culture of safety, including working safely around high voltage
