REPORTS TO: C h i e f D e p ar tm e n t E ng i nee r & Pr o j e c t D epar t m en t E n g i n e er SUPERVISES: E ng i n e e r I , D e s i gner s an d D r a f t s per s o n s DUTIES / R E SP O N S I B I L I TI ES : Responsible for moderately complex design calculations and drawing development for the construction, maintenance, and repair of maritime vessels and shipboard systems including structural, propulsion, electrical, and hydraulic mechanics. Complies with Austal's employee handbook general guidelines, company procedures and policies. QUALIFICATIONS / KNOWLEDGE / EXPERIENCE : General: 2 to 6 years of relevant engineering experience in the manufacturing, construction (or similar) industry, shipbuilding industry preferred E xc e l l en t w r i t t e n a n d o r a l c om m u n ic at i o n skil l s Possesses leadership skills, Ability to help grow company culture. Capable of training and developing level 1 engineers U n der s ta n d i n g o f sc h e du l i n g a n d a n ab il i t y to a d h e r e t o s tr i c t d ead l i n e s Ability to interact with Production, multiple design teams from several companies, customer representatives and equipment manufacturers.
