This exciting opportunity offers the chance to apply your expertise in public sector real estate, plan review, and contracts while working on the acquisition, sale, and management of property and real property rights on behalf of Pima County and its Special Taxing Districts. A Real Property Acquisition Agent II negotiates directly with property owners, occupants, and other affected parties for the acquisition, sale, and management of real property on behalf of Pima County and affiliated districts, while serving the public and helping shape infrastructure and development projects that benefit and support the community. Work assignments may vary based on departmental needs and will be assigned by the supervisor. Primary Duties and Responsibilities Review engineering plans, subdivision plats, development plans, title reports, legal descriptions, and related documents to determine accuracy, impacts, and compliance requirements. Analyze and summarize property-related information and provide recommendations regarding proposed real estate actions. Prepare legal and acquisition documents in compliance with applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations, including: Arizona Revised Statutes (ARS), Uniform Relocation Assistance and Real Property Acquisition Policies Act (49 CFR Part 24) Negotiate with property owners and occupants regarding the acquisition, exchange, or conveyance of real property rights for County and District projects. Coordinate with title and escrow companies on matters related to property acquisition and disposition, including: Review of encumbrances and legal instruments, Processing payments and closing documentation Submit payment claims, requisitions, and related financial documentation; manage receipt and disbursement of acquisition and relocation funds. Conduct research, prepare reports, maintain records, and close real estate files in accordance with project requirements. Certify acquisitions for federally and state-funded projects in compliance with agency requirements. Perform property management functions involving County-owned assets and property rights, including: Dedications and Abandonments, Easements and Releases, License Agreements, Leases, and Sale of surplus property Maintain accurate electronic records and documentation, including correspondence, reports, legal documents, engineering plans, and activity logs.
