Under the direction of the Supervisor, Food & Beverage, the Food & Beverage Attendant provides an exceptional guest experience while holding responsibility for ensuring an efficient flow of service. This position serves as a team player while greeting guests, coordinates seating needs, maintaining cleanliness of assigned areas, as well as supporting the front of house and culinary team at the assigned venue. The attendant presents themselves professionally with an approachable and accommodating demeanor to both guests and team members at all times and ensures a consistent Best in Class experience in alignment with the goals and priorities of the Enterprise. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 1. Creates the ultimate, memorable guest experience by providing exceptional service to every patron; interacts and entertains in an enthusiastic and engaging manner. Greets guests in a timely manner with a smile, makes eye contact, escorts them to tables, and provides a menu (where applicable). 2. Ensures all sales transactions are processed accurately to maintain proper operation of the department. Process transactions accurately, ensuring all guests pay for their food and beverages and receive the correct change. Adheres to all cash handling procedures, including tip policies and practices, as established by the department. 3. Serves and prepares meals according to the Department standards. Prepares beverages and expedites food orders as necessary. Delivers food and any necessary condiments to guests. 4. Ensures cleanliness, sanitizing and organization of workstations and dining rooms. Clears and wipes down tables; removes food trays. Inspects dining room tables, chairs and floors for cleanliness. Keeps walkways clear of any debris; sweeps and mops as needed. 5. Maintains stock in all areas. Keeps stations fully stocked with condiments, plastic ware, coffee, etc. Restocks ice bins before opening and during operations as necessary. 6. Coordinates seating and activities of the dining room to provide fast and courteous service to guests. Maintains knowledge of daily specials. 7. Serves the guest at the food line, plates and garnishes food, and supports cooks in the action stations. 8. Passes service standards, food, liquor, wine, beer and alcohol awareness and point of sales tests with scores of 90% or better, before working solo shift. Continues to pass periodic quizzes and tests with the same results as needed thereafter. 9. Performs other duties as assigned to support the efficient operation of the department. EDUCATIONAL, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS High School Diploma or GED required. Minimum three (3) months of high-volume restaurant experience and/or training preferred. Minimum three (3) months of cash handling experience preferred. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSA) Must be able to read, write and communicate in the English language. Must be able to perform simple mathematical operations (addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division). Must be able to manage cash transactions accurately and securely. Must be able to provide friendly and efficient service to guests and team members, addressing their needs and resolving issues. Must be able to have clear and effective communication with guests and team members. Must be able to work under pressure by staying calm and efficient during busy period(s). REQUIRED LICENSES, CERTIFICATIONS AND REGISTRATIONS At the discretion of the San Manuel Tribal Gaming Commission, you may be required to obtain and maintain a gaming license. Must obtain and maintain a current Food Handler's Card. Must obtain and maintain Training for Intervention Procedures (TIPS) Certification upon employment. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/ WORKING CONDITIONS - ENVIRONMENT The physical demands and working environment described here are representative of those that an employee encounters and must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Primary work environment is in a climate-controlled Casino & Resort setting. Work requires travel to attend meetings, trade shows, and conferences. Incumbents may be required to work evening, weekend and holiday shifts. Must be able to work in a fast-paced, high-demand environment. Strength sufficient to exert up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects and/or move up to 40 pounds occasionally. Sedentary work: involves sitting most of the time. Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine, and computer printer.
