Reporting to: Transport Manager Reference: R9674 What will you do? The Transport Coordinator reports directly to the Transport Manager and has responsibility for the daily operation overseeing the day to day operations. Working cross functionally to drive continuous improvement ensuring standards of service, quality and environmental systems are maintained in line with company, industry and legal guidelines, managing a positive people agenda whilst focusing on achieving financial targets. Encouraging consistent Health & Safety practices are maintained driving a safety first culture ensuring legal undertakings and company rules are adhered to in line with Traffic Commissioners Statutory Guidance (Documents 3), DVSA Guide to Maintaining Roadworthiness and the ForFarmers Road Transport Operations Procedure Manual. This role will cover Tuesday-Saturday. Requests for part time hours will be considered. Tasks and responsibilities as a Transport Coordinator: Support the ' daily in flight' operation to ensure OTIF performance is achieved in line with customer SLAs. Liaising with Transport Planners to ensure the plan is within the agreed parameters, being achievable, cost effective and in line with industry protocol. Provide cover when needed on daily planning and assist with daily execution of the transport plan Communicate with the Drivers to advise work schedules and start times & prepare their paperwork for the next day's plan. Driver's hours and rules must be adhered to in all cases so a knowledge of this is desirable, however full training will be given and is the responsibility of the Transport Manager. Proactively managing VOR and downtime through solid working relationships with local service agents/national dealerships and effective management of service schedule and closed loop defecting. Daily Debrief - Checking all loads back in. Check for conformance to plan, update any account information & special instructions passed on from Drivers and liaise with the planning team for continuous improvement. Confirm all Delivery Notes are signed and filed daily. In the case of incomplete deliveries, raise the return and arrange the new order for the customer with the relevant department. Liaising and communicating with the relevant departments Logistics, Production, Planning & Customer Services to resolve on day issues as they arise to ensure the delivery meets our On Time In Full KPI's. Accurate data input and maintenance of appropriate systems. To assist Transport Manager with other general transport activities as required. Promoting the safety culture through appropriate behaviors Raise Purchase Requisitions as and when needed when we are provided with the service or goods are received. Check shipments to confirm if any 3PL has been use a cost has been raised and receipted.
