Supplier Coordination & Compliance : Overseeing supplier deliveries, ensuring that they comply with agreed-upon timelines and quality standards.
Demand Forecast Analysis : Understanding the consumption patterns and forecasts to adjust schedules and material requirements, accordingly, avoiding both shortages and surplus stock.
Adaptability & Fast-Paced Environment : The planner must be able to react quickly to changing conditions, such as shifts in demand or production schedules.
Team Oversight: In some cases, the Materials Planner may also have oversight of other employees in the supply chain, contributing to team coordination and operational efficiency.
Process Compliance & Continuous Improvement: Ensuring all actions are in line with approved procedures to maintain consistency and quality control.
Corrective Actions: Investigating and addressing any issues with receiving or accounting, especially related to purchase orders.
Supplier Relationship Management: Managing tactical relationships with suppliers, ensuring clear communication, and resolving any issues regarding delivery, quality, or capacity.
Conflict Resolution: Working proactively to resolve any issues related to material availability or order fulfillment.
Additional Responsibilities: The role may include other tasks assigned, which can evolve based on business needs.
