Description of Work The Business Officer I performs a variety of accounting and bookkeeping duties within the Finance Office department at NCCAT. Job Responsibilities: Assist with developing projections and developing the overall agency budget. Evaluate procedures and projections used in the preparation of budgets for program and department spending. Assist with overall analysis and monitoring of budget for state and grant funds. Provide guidance and review of department budget reports with department heads to evaluate spending and ensure budgets are followed and revised when needed. Investigate any variances between budget and actual to determine if any misclassifications. Assist in maintaining NCCAT seminar budgets are followed and revised if needed. Review and approve requisitions ensuring proper account codes, funding sources and compliance with grant, state and federal purchasing regulations. Responsible for reviewing and submitting for payment, travel reimbursements, substitute teacher reimbursements and contract payments. Stay up to date on changes in purchasing methods, state purchasing contracts, practices and purchasing systems. (E-Procurement, NCAS, and P-Card.) Knowledge Skills and Abilities/Management Preferences Recruitment Range: $52,592.00 - $63,215.00 Manager Preferences: Knowledge of purchasing and procurement procedures, including state contracts, bid procedures, object code classifications, and purchasing compliance requirements.
