Supervise hourly skilled trades employees including coordinating their work, managing employee performance, time off, etc.
Support emergency breakdown issues in the manufacturing plants as they relate to machine parts repair.
Analyze production process elements for improved performance and reduced cost.
Manage resource costs to a budget and document variances.
Provide a physical presence on the production floor and support services areas.
Responsible for the acquisition, operational performance, and maintenance of departmental machinery and equipment.
Key Performance Measures:
Ensure team compliance with all safety policies and procedures.
Responsible for Tool Room finished parts and Cutter Grind sharpening quality performance.
Manage hourly employee productivity and effectiveness with focus on work backlog.
Service various internal organizations, like Engineering, Maintenance and Production, creating a timely and positive customer experience.
Demonstrate a financially responsible adherence to established budgets and forecasts.
Competencies and Behaviors:
Required:
Computer literacy (MS Office) and able to learn and master Maximo, SAP, AutoCad and Visual Manufacturing software programs.
Knowledge of tooling and manufacturing process and equipment.
High level of analytical ability where problems are complex.
Able to work effectively with others outside the work group, including engineering and other production support personnel.
Good written and oral communication skills.
The ability to work independently, and a willingness to seek counsel on difficult issues.
Comfortable working on a variety of tasks at the same time.
Exceptional organization skills.

Understanding of how to adhere to and administrate Union contract.
Requirements
Required :
Bachelors degree in Engineering discipline or accredited Toolmaker with 3+ years supervisory experience.
Preferred :
Bachelors degree in Engineering discipline.
1+ years supervisory/managerial experience
Experience working in a Tool Room, specifically with machine repair equipment.
Experience working in a manufacturing environment with an emphasis on metal removal.
3+ years supervisory/managerial experience.
Experience in a Union environment.
