Operate plant utilities under guidance of a qualified operator. These systems include: medium pressure boilers, chillers, glycol system, cooling towers, air compressors, waste neutralization and compressed air, fire suppression systems
Operate the following GMP systems under guidance of a qualified operator: USP water system, water softeners, RO systems, Biowaste inactivation, Vapor Compression stills, clean steam generators, oxygen, nitrogen, argon and CO2 gas delivery systems
Monitor utility systems through the BMS and Delta V control systems
Maintain utility systems and respond to alarms. Log readings on various plant equipment systems and investigate when alarms occur
Provide troubleshooting on problem utility equipment
Perform Preventive Maintenance on utility equipment
Perform daily rounds on all equipment and systems across your areas
Other duties as assigned
Requirements
Minimum Requirements
High School Diploma or equivalent with 4+ years prior industry experience OR 2 years trade school/certification plus 1 year industry experience OR commensurate military experience
Basic mechanical skills and knowledge of steam systems, air systems, chillers, water systems
Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office Suite included)
Adaptable to changing needs and demands, comfortable navigating in a changing environment
Ability to interact with others in a professional and courteous manner in accordance with Biogen's Core Behaviors
Ability to communicate clearly and effectively to all levels of the organization

Physical Demands and Schedule
We are seeking applicants who are available to work either day shift or night shift on a 2,2,3 rotation (0430 to 1630 or 1630 to 0430)
This work requires occasionally ascending/descending a ladder, entering mechanical spaces that could be difficult to traverse, moving/lifting up to 50 lbs. as well as the ability to stand for up to 3 hours at a time
The person in this position needs to frequently move about the campus to access different equipment and perform different tasks

The base compensation range for this role is: $25.96-$34.13
Base salary offered is determined through an analytical approach utilizing a combination of factors including, but not limited to, relevant skills & experience, job location, and internal equity.

About This Role
We are seeking a new team member to support the Utility Operations Dept. in a GMP and Non-GMP environment.
In this role you will be responsible for operating the Plant Utility systems both GMP and Non-GMP, starting and stopping various utility systems using a BMS and DeltaV control system, monitoring utility systems, responding to all alarms, and performing rounds which include taking daily log readings on various utility systems.
Individuals in this team will become trained and skilled in all unit operations in their area, often leading the execution of procedures, and performs most functions with minimal supervision.
