Join our team as a seasonal, part-time Youth Camp Counselor at the Hallett Community Center in Crosby, MN (~15 miles NE of Brainerd). Hours: approximately 18-24 hours/week Schedule: Monday thru Friday, 3 days a week, 6-8 hours a day, between the hours of 6:45AM-5:00PM No weekends! Employment in this seasonal role is from approximately May 18 - Aug 31, 2026 Responsible for leading, supporting, engaging, and motivating youth in activity programs. Will assist in developing youth programs and leading and mentoring program participants. Key Accountabilities Enthusiastically lead and support participants through program activities. Monitor participants to ensure compliance with rules, prevent accidents, and identify inappropriate behaviors. Proactively address and deescalate inappropriate behavior. Provide corrective direction to help participants learn appropriate actions and to make positive behavioral choices. Work with program coordinator and program staff to plan and coordinate activities. Maintain, clean and ensure proper use of facilities and equipment. Supervise children ranging from ages [insert age range if applicable]. Clean up after the children every shift. Play games and other activities with the children. Make sure the children are checked in and out by parents. Nurture sharing, sportsmanship and other social skills. Escort the children to the playground and ball fields. Minimum Requirements Must be at least 15 years old. Adult/child/infant CPR/AED and First Aid certifications from American Heart Association, American Red Cross, National Safety Council or American Safety & Health Institute required prior to the start of camp. Note: certification must have an in-person component and not 100% online/OSHA compliant. We can provide certification class if needed (required by the start of camp) Robust ability to actively lead and engage youth. Strong verbal communication skills with both children and adults. Active listing skills and ability to relate to and provide fun, engaging, safe activities for youth of different backgrounds. Ability to work independently, problem solve, and make decisions with limited supervision. Ability to be a positive role model for program participants. Compensation: $15.50 - $17.13 per hour. Pay is dependent on experience and qualifications. The final wage offer will be determined based on factors such as location, qualifications, experience, skill set, and other relevant factors.
