Maintains, operates, and troubleshoots the refrigeration, air conditioning/heating and ventilation systems and related equipment.
Services and maintains refrigeration equipment, heating, and air conditioning systems by determining malfunction and replacing or repairing defective parts or elements.
Monitors the chilled water treatment and energy management systems.
Ensures the proper and efficient operation of all related equipment.
Coordinates operation and maintenance of automated energy management controls.
Develops energy utilization program, collects and analyzes data to establish long range goals.
Provides technical assistance to department or campus or other functions.
Installs, maintains, and repairs machinery, equipment, physical structure, and pipe and electric system for department campus, or college.
Changes filter in air handlers; perform plumbing and electrical repairs on heating and air conditioning or other mechanical system, as required.
Performs regularly scheduled maintenance on equipment and machinery.
Monitors current inventory of supplies and equipment, notifies appropriate parties if inventory runs low.
Prepares required reports for various internal and external requests.
Responsible for compliance with appropriate State, Federal, and local safety regulations to include but not limited to OSHA, EPA, and NFPA to ensure a safe learning and working environment.
Follows established safety practices.
Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Education and Experience:
High School diploma or G.E.D.
4+ years related work experience in maintenance, repair and installation of HVAC and/or refrigeration equipment
Knowledge of:
HVAC and refrigeration service and installation techniques
Methods, tools, and equipment used in the repair of heating and air conditioning equipment
Skill in:
Problem/situation analysis
Customer Service
Verbal and written communication
Attention to Detail
Ability to:
Work with diverse populations and varying education levels
Licenses, Registration, Certifications, or Special Requirements:
Valid Florida Driver's License.
EPA Universal Refrigeration certificate.
Preferred, but not a must:
6+ years related work experience in maintenance, repair and installation of HVAC and/or refrigeration equipment
Commercial industrial air conditioning systems experience
Microsoft Office Professional or similar applications
Data Analysis / Analytics
Multitasking capabilities
Prioritize assignments/workload / time management
Work Environment and Physical Demand:
Lift, carry, push, pull, install or remove objects weighing 20 to 49 pounds.
Lift, carry, push, pull, install or remove objects weighing in excess of 50 pounds.

Stand for extended periods of time.
