Job Description: Saab, Inc. is seeking a dynamic, results-oriented Principal Program Manager located in Grayling, MI to be responsible for the profitable execution of the Ground Launched Small Diameter Bomb (GLSDB) portfolio of products within the Advanced Weapons division of the Land Systems Business Area. The preferred candidate will have an in-depth knowledge of high-volume missile production and integration through several years of working in this domain. Additionally, experience partnering with USG facilities for purposes of demilling and reconstituting propulsion and energetics hardware for reuse is desired. The Principal Program Manager will be responsible for leading a matrixed Production Program staff accountable for timely production and integration of GLSDB missile launchers and Launch Pod Systems. The primary objective will be the on-time, on-cost delivery of all contractual production requirements while achieving contractual design and technical development requirements. The Principal Program Manager is accountable for leading all phases of the program life cycle from inception (proposal development) through startup, execution, and completion (contract closeout). Primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Establishing a program organization that effectively addresses customer requirements and incorporates the necessary internal and external sub-organizations Working with functional management to ensure the program team is adequately staffed to achieve program objectives Leading and directing matrixed cross-functional support staff and Integrated Program Teams (IPT) to meet program cost, schedule and technical performance objectives Cultivating cross functional, cross company, supplier and customer relationships to align with common goals and directions while developing further opportunities within each community Accountable for developing and achieving Annual Operating Plans (AOP) and Estimate at Completion (EACs) budgets Accountable for profit and loss for Programs managed Managing and reporting program performance metrics using Integrated Master Schedules (IMS), Earned Value (EV) Management, Manufacturing Requirements Planning (MRP) and Production Lines of Balance (LOB) resources Establishment and management of the program and subordinate baselines Conducting thorough risk & opportunity management practices including identification, mitigation and realization Oversee profitable growth of the program segment Delivering presentations to customers, executive management and other program stakeholders. Accountable for profit and loss for Programs managed Participate in the negotiation of contracts, contract changes, specifications, operating budgets, schedule milestones, and key terms and conditions Establishing design concepts, criteria, and engineering efforts for product research, development, integration and test. Represents the program as a prime internal and external contact on a diverse spectrum of program matters Works with Supply Chain and suppliers directly to manage supplier performance that achieves requirements and meets program objectives Managing Government/customer supplied property or information (GFE, CFE, etc.) Adherence to all internal processes, policies, and applicable industry standards Ensures the program team adheres to contract scope and manages change through control board activities Mentoring and guiding junior program managers to achieve delivery of quality products and services and contribute to the development and retention of program management talent Compensation Range: $165,700 - $223,800 Basic Qualification, Skills and Experience Required: Bachelor's degree in an Engineering, Business or STEM field of study required Advanced knowledge of program management standards and best practices (Budgeting, Forecasting, Scheduling, Cost Accounting, EVMS, Risk/Opportunity management) Experience guiding development, transition to production, production and/or sustainment programs Ability to contribute to the growth strategy and lead strategic initiatives in support of functional and business objectives. Experience supporting or managing missile production programs Experience leading cross-functional teams to include, but not limited to, any combination of the following: Engineering, Contracts, Finance, Procurement/Supply Chain, Manufacturing/Operations, Quality Management, Logistics, Data Management (CDRL support) and/or administrative functions Outstanding communication and presentation skills. Current US Government security clearance or the ability to obtain one Travel (outside of Michigan) 25% - 50% will be required
