About the role

NEH is an independent federal agency that supports the humanities in every state and U.S. jurisdiction. To qualify for this position, your resume must state sufficient experience and/or education, to perform the duties of the specific position for which you are applying. At the GS-9 level Qualified candidates must possess: 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-7 level or equivalent experience. Specialized experience is experience which is directly related to the line of work of the position to be filled and which has equipped the applicant with the knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position, for example: (1) installing or configuring computer hardware, software, operating systems, networks, applications, printers, or scanners; (2) performing analysis, testing, quality assurance, configuration, installation, implementation, integration, maintenance, and/or management of networked systems; (3) communicate complex IT concepts to management and non-technical personnel, both orally and in writing; (4) applying systems administration methods and procedures to monitor system performance and status. or Education Master's degree or equivalent graduate degree. or 2 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to a master's degree or equivalent graduate degree. At the GS-11 level Qualified candidates must possess: 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-9 level or equivalent experience. Specialized experience is experience which is directly related to the line of work of the position to be filled and which has equipped the applicant with the knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position, for example: (1) coordinating the sequence of actions to install or configure computer hardware, software, operating systems, networks, applications, printers, or scanners; (2)performing analysis, testing, quality assurance, configuration, installation, implementation, integration, maintenance, and/or management of networked systems; (3) troubleshooting complex IT concepts to senior management and non-technical personnel, both orally and in writing; (4) establish monitoring thresholds for server performance, utilize and implement tools to ensure thresholds stay within the established guidelines. or Education Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree. At the GS-12 level Qualified candidates must possess: 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-11 level or equivalent experience.
