THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION OPEN TO THE FOLLOWING AREA OF CONSIDERATION (AOC): Area of Consideration: This position is open to Areas 1 and 2 Only. Area 1: Current employees of the South Carolina Army National Guard (Tenure 1 and 2) Area 2: Current members of the South Carolina Army National Guard Area 3: Any individual eligible for membership in the South Carolina Army National Guard MINIMUM EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: Experience or training which demonstrates the ability to follow instructions and to safely operate the type of equipment required to accomplish the duties of the position. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: Experience or training providing knowledge of the equipment (e.g., tanks, manifolds, valves, filter/separators, pumps, etc.) and procedures for constructing bladder tank farms sufficient to provide technical guidance to and inspect the work of others. Knowledge of fuels, fuel distribution, regulations, and procedures, and the operation of fuel distribution systems sufficient to perform a variety of functions associated with the operation of a system, including general maintenance. Ability to apply knowledge of more complex steps and processes to convert fuel measurements from volume received at tank temperature to the equivalent volume at the standard temperature set by the American Petroleum Institute. CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT & NOTES: 1. Must be able to obtain and maintain the appropriate security clearance of the position. 2. This position is covered by the Domestic Violence Misdemeanor Amendment (30 Sep 96) of the Gun Control Act (Lautenberg Amendment) of 1968. An individual convicted of a qualifying crime of domestic violence may not perform the duties of this position. 3. Ability to establish effective professional working relationships with coworkers and customers, contributing to a cooperative working environment and successful accomplishment of the mission. *4. Irregular and/or overtime (compensatory) hours may be required to support operational requirements or contingencies or may be required to work hours outside of the normal duty day 5.
