About the role
You will serve as a TELECOMMUNICATIONS SPECIALIST (SATCOM) in the Operations Department, Technical Control, SATCOM Teams Division of NAVAL COMP TELCOM AREA WESTPAC. Such experience is typically in or directly relates to the work of the position to be filled. Qualifying experience would be demonstrated by: 1. Ensure circuit continuity is maintained and respond to tasking by NCTS Guam Technical Control Facility. 2. Operate secure and non-secure voice circuits and NAVY ORDER WIRES between communications facilities and DSCS QC Satellite controllers 3. Configure, operate, maintain, troubleshoot, and perform fault isolation and system backups for various SATCOM telecommunications equipment systems supporting SHF and EHF communications 4. Uses General Purpose Electronic Test Equipment (GPETE) and apply comprehensive technical knowledge of Satellite Communications methods and procedures to resolve complex communications connectivity issues. 5. Maintain the security of SA TCOM system assets; ensure that only authorized personnel gain system access including system management computers, switching elements and transmission elements. 6. Coordinates with the Communications Watch Officer (CWO) and the EK.MS Manager to ensure cryptographic operational requirements are met. 7. Ensure all required reports, master station log entries and watch-to-watch inventories are completed and updated as required. Ensures all assigned Preventive Maintenance Scheduled (PMS) and Quality Control (WC) checks are completed. This position is within the Work Category Technician and Admin Support at Work Level II, Series and Grade GG-09.
