The Zion Lodge is a year-round operation with 76 hotels rooms, 6 suites and 40 cabins as well as a restaurant, outside grab and go café, bar, gift shop and auditorium space. Job Summary: The Café Crewmember is a versatile role within the café, responsible for ensuring an exceptional guest experience in a high-volume environment. The position requires the ability to perform various duties, from food preparation and cooking to barista tasks and cashier responsibilities. As part of the Zion Lodge team, the Café Crewmember plays an essential role in providing a welcoming atmosphere and creating memorable guest experiences while upholding the park's natural beauty and standards. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Deliver excellent guest service in a fast-paced café setting, anticipating customer needs, and providing prompt and friendly service. Actively engage with guests to answer questions about menu items and assist with special requests. Cook and Prep: Assist with the preparation and cooking of meals, ensuring quality and consistency in all dishes. Prepare ingredients, assemble dishes, and ensure food safety and sanitation standards are met. Grilling: Operate the grill to prepare hot items according to menu specifications, ensuring proper cooking techniques and portion control. Barista Duties: Prepare coffee drinks and other beverages, maintaining high standards of quality and presentation. Operate espresso machines, grinders, and other café equipment safely and efficiently. Cashiering: Accurately handle cash transactions, process payments, and balance the cash drawer at the beginning and end of shifts. Follow company policies and procedures for cash handling, including safeguarding against errors and theft. Ensure the café remains clean and organized throughout the day, including dining areas, kitchen spaces, and prep stations. Adhere to health and safety regulations, including proper food handling, sanitation, and personal hygiene practices. Collaborate with co-workers to maintain a positive, efficient, and team-oriented work environment. Assist in training new staff members in various café roles, ensuring they understand the café's standards and procedures. Support fellow team members during peak times or when assistance is needed in any café role. Work Location: Due to the in-person nature of the hospitality business, h ousing will be provided on- site and c o mmuting from the local vicinity is also acceptable. Due to the nature of our business, Zion Lodge is open every day. You must be prepared to work a schedule which may include Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays.
