With over 40 years of semiconductor process control experience, chipmakers around the globe rely on KLA to ensure that their fabs ramp next-generation devices to volume production quickly and cost-effectively. Enabling the movement towards advanced chip design, KLA's Global Products Group (GPG), which is responsible for creating all of KLA's metrology and inspection products, is looking for the best and the brightest research scientist, software engineers, application development engineers, and senior product technology process engineers. The Optical Metrology Division products are used for optical overlay metrology. The portfolio of products includes unique solution packages which are based on hardware and software systems to enhance yield and effectiveness. As a world leader in its field of expertise, the division's products are the most advanced in performance (measurement accuracy of nanometers and below), reliability, ease of use and compatibility with other KLA's products. Position Overview
We are looking for an Applications Development Engineer to join our global team, based at CAPRES headquarters in Lyngby, Denmark.
In this role, you will develop and optimize applications for advanced electrical metrology solutions, working closely with customers, product engineering, and field teams. You will act as a key interface between customer needs and internal development, ensuring that CAPRES solutions deliver measurable value in both R&D and high-volume manufacturing environments.
Job Description
Develop and implement applications for CAPRES metrology systems, with focus on sheet resistance, magnetic characterization, and CIPT measurements
Define, create, and execute in-house characterizations, feasibility studies, and demo activities for new and existing products
Analyze and interpret electrical measurement data, and develop application methodologies, test plans, and best known methods (BKMs)
Create technical documentation, including application notes, evaluation reports, and demo summaries, and present results to customers
Collaborate with hardware and software engineering teams to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues and improve product performance
Support global customer engagements, including on-site tool evaluations, recipe setup and optimization, troubleshooting, and process/application integration
Act as a key interface between customers and internal teams by capturing requirements, challenges, and use cases, and translating them into application solutions and product improvements
Lead medium-sized application projects and contribute to cross-functional activities
Support training of field application engineers and provide technical guidance to junior team members
