Support payroll processing activities for Canadian and U.S. payrolls, including review and validation of payroll inputs
Validate earnings, deductions, bonuses, and one-time payments to ensure accuracy prior to payroll completion
Assist in payroll tax activities including review of statutory deductions (CPP, EI, income tax, and U.S. federal/state taxes), reconciliations, and issues resolution
Support year-end activities including T4s, RL-1s (if applicable), W-2s, and related filings
Review payroll reports, identify discrepancies, and partner with senior team members to resolve issues in a timely manner
Assist with payroll accounting activities including journal entries, accruals, and reconciliations
Maintain accurate payroll records, employee data, and reporting files
Partner with HR and business stakeholders to address payroll-related inquiries (e.g., pay, deductions, time-off, tax, etc.)
Support compliance with Canadian and U.S. payroll legislation and internal controls
Assist in internal and external audits by preparing required documentation
Contribute to process improvements, documentation, and system enhancements, particularly within Workday
Participate in testing activities for payroll-related system updates and changes
Qualifications & Skills
Foundational knowledge of Canadian payroll, including CRA regulations, CPP, EI, income tax, and ROE requirements
Working knowledge of U.S. payroll and tax concepts (federal and state) is an asset
Experience with Workday Payroll or similar HRIS/payroll systems preferred
Understanding of payroll taxes, reconciliations, and compliance requirements
High attention to detail with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
Effective communication skills and a collaborative, team-oriented approach
Proficiency in Excel and payroll reporting
Education & Experience
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, or related field preferred
PCP (Payroll Compliance Practitioner) designation or in progress is preferred
2-4 years of payroll experience, with a focus on Canadian payroll; exposure to U.S. payroll is an asset
Work Environment
This role is based in our Toronto office. RBI follows a 5 day, in-office work schedule to support collaboration. Successful candidates will be expected to work onsite 5 days per week.
This posting is for an existing vacancy. For candidates based in Ontario, the expected annual salary range is $75,000 - $85,000 CAD.

The Payroll Analyst position will support the delivery of accurate and timely payroll processing for both Canada and the United States. This role focuses on payroll validation, data integrity, reporting, and compliance. The Analyst partners closely with Payroll managers, PBPs, DMs, and RGMs to ensure payroll inputs, calculations, and outputs are accurate and aligned with regulatory requirements.
