Role: Lead Cloud Engineer
The Team: S&P Global Enterprise Data Organization team is a creative team of experts collaborating across divisions and driving continuous improvements in platform innovation and usability.
The Impact: Joining our team in Canada, the candidate will be responsible for supporting and expanding our cloud infrastructure, monitoring and alerting frameworks, onboarding/migration projects, and interacting with the wider QA, and Development team.
Responsibilities
Collaborate with software development teams to improve application reliability, performance, and scalability.
Provide BAU Production support, and resolve issues either spotted by monitoring or reported by users before causing business impact
Develop scripts in Python/Unix shell scripting/AWS Lambda to automate tasks and streamline processes.
Design, implement, and manage infrastructure using GitHub/CI/CD/Terraform on AWS cloud platform utilizing best practices.
Comfortable with writing database queries and performing database management with an added advantage of experience in Document-Oriented databases.
Set up and configure monitoring solutions, including Grafana, PagerDuty to ensure system health and respond to incidents promptly.
Availability to occasionally participate in weekend production releases/deployments.
Requirements
5+ years of relevant DevOps and Software Engineering experience.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Relevant certifications.
Proven experience working with AWS cloud technologies, Terraform, and CI/CD pipelines.
Familiar with Git/Unix/Linux/PL/SQL skills (Document-Oriented databases experience preferred, good experience on scripting or coding would be a plus)
Familiarity with monitoring and logging solutions such as PagerDuty, Splunk and other industry-standard tools.
Demonstrated problem-solving ability and a proactive approach to identifying, resolving issues and raising improvement opportunities
Ability to adapt to a dynamic work environment and handle multiple priorities.
Good written and verbal communication skills, including experience speaking to technical and business audiences.
Be able to work independently, or drive a group of people, to work on improvement projects.
AWS Certified DevOps Engineer, Open-Source Containerization Certifications is a plus, Document-Oriented databases certified is preferred but not a must.
Location: Calgary, Canada (Hybrid -2 days onsite a week)
