About the role
The Cardiac Intermediate Care Unit (CICU) is a 47-bed unit with an average census of 46-47 patients. We have 149 employees on the unit, and we specialize in cardiac/telemetry, S/P catheter, pacer, ICD, stroke & seizure, GI bleed, sepsis, and med/surg overflow. The CICU has Nurse to patient ratios of 1:4 and LNA to patient ratios of 1:10 depending on the census. The CICU Graduate Nurse, under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse, delivers care to patients and families with needs ranging from basic to complex utilizing the nursing process. Creates a therapeutic and caring environment for patient and families. Practices in a manner consistent with the Elliot Hospital Interprofessional Practice model; the ANA's Social Policy Statement, Scope and Standards of Practice, and the Nursing Code of Ethics; and relevant specialty standards of practice.

Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing. Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred
- Nurses are expected to pursue professional certification upon eligibility or within three years of entering the specialty practice.
- Current New Hampshire, compact, or multistate licensure as Registered Nurse required.
- Ability to obtain BLS qualification during orientation period and maintain during employment. ACLS preferred.
