Description of Work This position is located at Harnett Correctional Institution in Lillington, North Carolina. Harnett Correctional Institution is a medium-custody prison housing male offenders. The Nurse Supervisor is responsible for ensuring professional nursing care and treatment is afforded to patients within medical policies and protocols and is consistent with Board of Nursing requirements. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, direct supervision of all nursing staff, staff schedules, assignments, orientation, performance improvement evaluations and clinical competency evaluations. The Nurse Supervisor supervises and conducts needs assessments, develops, implements and evaluates treatment plans and provides patient care and education to offenders. Position will ensure all policies and procedures are followed and submit short- and long-term care goals to leadership for review and approval. Position will perform administrative duties such as planning, organizing and managing daily operations, quality assurance, Human Resources management functions and staff development. The Nurse Supervisor will be required to develop and maintain effective communication and work relationships with physicians, upper management healthcare personnel, patients, families, agencies and others. The Nurse Supervisor must have the ability to identify and address quality monitoring and performance improvement issues for the facility. May be required to work any schedule to ensure medical operational needs are met at the facility level.
