About the role
We are seeking an experienced, EHS Specialist to lead the stand-up and ongoing operation of our new ~80,000 sq. ft. flagship manufacturing facility in Cypress, CA. This site will become the primary production hub for the company. This role is responsible for owning all aspects of Environmental Health & Safety (EHS). Reporting to the Head of Production, you will serve as the single-threaded owner for safety programs, conduct safety trainings, investigate accidents and hazards and recommend corrective actions to eliminate or reduce potential risks. You will also provide liaison support to our Redondo Beach site as needed. This role requires a highly independent operator who can build, scale, and maintain systems in a fast-paced, high-growth manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain sitewide EHS programs, procedures, and policies aligned with OSHA, Cal/OSHA, and Senra Systems standards
- Conduct routine facility inspections, equipment checks, and compliance audits to ensure a safe and efficient manufacturing environment
- Lead investigations for incidents and near misses; perform root cause analysis and drive corrective actions that address system level contributors
- Deliver safety training, onboarding sessions, and ongoing awareness programs for employees and contractors
- Oversee hazardous materials management, including labeling, storage, handling, and disposal in accordance with DTSC and environmental regulations
- Recommend and monitor appropriate PPE, engineering controls, and administrative controls
- Maintain accurate, audit ready documentation, permits, logs, and compliance records
- Stay current on evolving regulations and industry best practices; update programs proactively
- Support construction, commissioning, and equipment installation activities during facility buildout
- Partner with Production, Facilities, Engineering, and Quality to embed safety into daily operations
- Provide occasional EHS support to our Redondo Beach site and help develop scalable multisite processes
- What You Bring
- 4-8 years of EHS experience in manufacturing, aerospace, hardware, construction, or similar industrial settings
- Strong knowledge of OSHA, Cal/OSHA, NFPA, IBC, and related regulations
- Experience with hazard assessments, incident investigations, chemical safety, and environmental compliance
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and digital EHS platforms
- Ability to communicate clearly, influence cross functional teams, and drive accountability
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and a proactive mindset
- Preferred Skills
- Experience with California regional regulations (AQMD, CUPA, stormwater, hazardous waste)
- Knowledge of NFPA electrical safety, machine safety, industrial hygiene, and emergency response
