Under direction of the Assistant General Manager for Water, the Water Resources Division Manager will be responsible for directing the development and implementation of water conservation, recycled water, purified water, and groundwater programs (collectively "alternative water supply") to help meet future water supply needs for the SFPUC's retail and wholesale customers. The Manager will be responsible for managing teams to 1) direct the development and implementation of alternative water supply programs and multiple water conservation and water supply projects; 2) direct long-term studies regarding alternative water supply and conservation/demand management; and 3) coordinate needs to help inform decision-makers and the public about program implementation. Communicating program development, particularly on new water supply projects and water supply demands, will be an important function of this position. Essential Duties Planning Identify clear objectives and program goals for the Water Resources Division Direct long-term alternative water supply planning and water supply demand studies Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to align planning needs and project needs for implementation Work closely with other utilities, regulators and professionals on development of new water conservation and alternative water supply projects Supervisory and Program Management Plan, monitor, evaluate, and supervise the operation of the Water Resources Division; advise and consult with section managers; meet with appropriate staff to identify and resolve problems or conflicts; make or recommend final decisions regarding policy, operations, and administrative procedures.
