About this Opportunity Wellways Australia, in partnership with Access Health and Community, is seeking an experienced and passionate Support and Connect Team Leader to provide operational leadership and practice guidance to the peer workforce across the Yarra Ranges and Maroondah Mental Health and Wellbeing Locals. Working flexibly across both organisations, you will play a key role in supporting a growing community-based mental health service that places connection, choice, and recovery at the centre of care. Drawing on your personal lived experience of mental health challenges and navigating the public mental health system, you will lead, develop, and advocate for the lived experience workforce. You will champion Intentional Peer Support (IPS) principles, contribute to ongoing mental health reform in Victoria, and help create culturally safe, compassionate, and collaborative services that deliver positive outcomes for participants, carers, and the wider community. You will need: Personal experience of mental distress and accessing and navigating healthcare services, including mental health services Tertiary qualification in a relevant field (mental health, community services, peer work or equivalent) with relevant experience, or a lesser formal qualification with substantial experience in mental health. Completion of Intentional Peer Support Core or Advanced Training Experience in a Team/Senior Leader or Management role Completion of Consumer Perspective Supervision Training, or willingness to undertake Willingness to travel across both Local sites and within the broader community as required You will also need: Current valid Driver's License and the ability to undertake travel for the role Current Working with Children Check and NDIS Workers Screening Check Right to Work within Australia Satisfactory National Police Records Check (valid within the last 12 months) NDIS Worker Orientation Module Certificate
