Responsibilities
- Identify and assign required training for supervisors.
- Facilitate and monitor DOT (Department of Transportation) drug and alcohol, random, post-accident, and reasonable suspicion drug testing.
- Establish and cultivate a cross functional network of relationships to maintain compliance and achieve business goals.
- Assist the complex in maintaining audit items to ensure compliance with all regulations and policies.
- Collect data to identify trends and assist in researching events.
- Participate in hazard assessments that identify exposures, root causes, and countermeasures.
- Educate drivers on Electronic Logging Device obligations and responsibilities.
- Collaborates with drivers and compliance team to obtain required qualification documents.
- Provide guidance on the proper operation of new equipment.
- Aids drivers with obtaining and securing proper permits and documentation for legal operation.
Requirements
- Ability to access and manage data through spreadsheets and dashboards.
- Working knowledge of Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations.
- One year of experience in the transportation field.
- Occasional travel may be necessary.
- 1st Shift : Monday - Friday (7AM - 5PM).
- Education: Bachelor's degree in related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience: 3 plus years' experience working in safety with a focus on policies procedures and dealing with the Department of Transportation compliance at local state and federal levels or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Computer Skills: Standard computer skills including complex multi-page spreadsheets for documentation of results statistics and reporting requirements.
- Communication Skills: Excellent communication skills.
- Supervisory: Responsible for supervising management support positions.
- Travel: 1-5 trips a year.
