Responsibilities

  • Promote and actively support a drug-free workplace, including participation in random drug testing programs.
  • Drive and uphold a strong safety culture, ensuring Incident and Injury Free (IIF) performance at all times.
  • Operate heavy construction equipment used in earthmoving operations, including but not limited to dozers, scrapers, loaders, excavators, and compactors.
  • Perform excavation, grading, and compaction activities in accordance with project specifications.
  • Excavate and load soil and materials into haul trucks for transport, stockpiling, or disposal, including handling of contaminated soils when required.
  • Assist with manual and support tasks, including:
  • Hand excavation
  • Operating manual and mechanical clearing equipment
  • Power washing
  • Traffic control
  • Equipment fueling
  • General site housekeeping
  • Use hand-held mobile radios to coordinate work activities, equipment, and crew resources.
  • Execute tasks based on detailed written and verbal instructions.
  • Read, understand, and comply with all Safety Data Sheets (SDS), safety plans, training materials, maintenance instructions, warning tags, traffic signs, and procedural manuals.
  • Demonstrate the ability to work in challenging conditions, both independently and as part of a team.
  • Maintain flexibility to work extended hours, including evenings and weekends as required.
  • Perform additional assignments and special projects as directed.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma/GED or equivalent.
  • Experience/Certification operating a forklift, 12K telehandler (zoom boom).
  • The following safety training is preferred, but not mandatory. Company will provide additional training, as necessary.
  • 40 Hour HAZWOPER training.
  • Competent Person Safety Training
  • 8-Hour Supervisory Training
  • 30-Hour OSHA Construction Safety Training
  • First Aid and CPR
  • Physical Demands & Work Environment
