Job Title : Planning Analyst Reporting To: Operations Planning Manager Work Schedule: Onsite - Torrance, CA Moog's Military Aircraft Group is looking for a Planning Analyst . Reporting to our Torrance Site Operations Planning Manager, you will have a 9/80 schedule option and work on-site at our aerospace plant in Torrance, CA. This position will be responsible for planning and coordinating production activities to meet customer demand and organizational goals. In this role, you will use your expertise in production planning, data analytics and planning systems. As a Planning Analyst, here's what you'll be working on: Maintain production schedules, ensuring alignment with customer orders, forecasts, and inventory levels, while accommodating maintenance and downtime Monitor planning KPI's and provide recommendations to leadership for planning alignment Collaborate with Production teams, Program Management, and Supply Chain departments to optimize workflow and resolve scheduling conflicts Work with the Master Planner to set appropriate planning flags in the system Be an expert on MRP/ERP/SAP, and /or other system changes and integration Plan, coordinate, schedule, and suggest changes to program plans Coordinate with Manufacturing Supervision and support groups to provide a workable schedule and assist in correcting work order discrepancies Responsible for monitoring total scope and progress of program plan Analyze part requirements, orders, schedules, reschedules and expedite assigned items as necessary based on review of manually generated reports or MRP/data processing outputs Work alongside the Integrated Business Planning (IBP) team to ensure part-planning parameters information is up to date using DDMRP/ERP system Prepare and update reports and action plans for responsible programs and presents to Manufacturing Management, Program Management, Purchasing, Contracts, Quality, and Engineering. On occasion, you will prepare the same type of information and present to customers Train new employees and assist in overall training/education needs To be considered for the Planning Analyst, here's what you'll typically need to bring with you: Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution in Business or Industrial Management with a minimum of two years' experience as a Production Planning Analyst. The equivalent would be an associate's degree with eight years of manufacturing experience. In all cases, two years as a Program Analyst is a minimum. APICS certification would replace two to three years of manufacturing experience as it would demonstrate that the necessary knowledge had been obtained Obtain a security clearance or have the ability to obtain a security clearance Additional Qualifications Include: Experience making professional presentations to upper management Strong analytical skills; ability to collect data and present in run charts or bi-modal type distributions. Strong statistical background is a plus Experience in the aerospace industry Production Planning experience in a machine shop environment Proficiency with advanced Excel functions (Pivot tables, VLOOKUP) APICS certification or coursework is a plus Experience with SAP, DDMRP, or Rapid Response platform is a plus Knowledge of Demand Driven Process a strong plus Supply chain experience SQL programming experience Have the sound understanding of general material control systems as well as a detailed understanding of the computer-based control systems used at Moog.
