Ensure compliance with U.S. Customs and Border Protection laws and regulations in the areas of customs valuation reporting
Lead QA / data integrity work in partnership with key cross functional partners (e.g. Tax, Corporate Accounting, Operations Controller Team, Supply Chain)
Lead scenario planning and modeling collaboratively with key stakeholders to identify tariff costs of various levels of the supply chain that will contribute to production planning decisions
Develop opportunities to utilize technology and enhance existing processes related to declaring and reporting final customs values through the reconciliation process
Develop and manage the program governance and controls for key trade program strategies for AbbVie
Primary SME on the review of contracts to determine potential customs valuation considerations (e.g., royalties)
Manage resource(s) supporting the existing customs valuation processes and strategies
Participate in governance forums and interface with various levels of leadership
Advise and support cross-functional activities as new tariff regulations are enacted
Requirements
Bachelor's Degree in Finance or Accounting, CPA or MBA a plus
Minimum [7+] years of leadership experience, including Operations / Supply Chain Finance
Proficiency in SAP (S4/Hana) module expertise particularly in Finance and Controlling and Materials Management
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint are essential
Strong financial acumen, including cost accounting principles and financial analysis
Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, with proven ability to make data-driven decisions
Demonstrated cross-functional leadership skills
Superior organizational skills and attention to detail
Ability to recognize opportunities to simplify processes and create efficiencies

The Associate Director, Customs Valuation Compliance & Reporting, is a critical compliance role that actively partners across the enterprise and leads the operations and strategic design of the end-to-end customs valuation and reconciliation process. Responsibilities include leading the financial planning and reporting of customs tariff impact to AbbVie's imports (primarily focused on the Americas region) by conducting relevant variance analyses, scenario modeling and developing executive-ready reports; leading customs valuation initiatives in collaboration with stakeholders from other departments; and ensuring accuracy and predictability of tariff costs and other customs reporting metrics.
