Lead system architecture development and manage the full systems engineering lifecycle, from requirements through deployment.
Oversee requirements analysis, system design, integration, and testing activities for KVM virtualization and F127 CI.
Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure technical alignment and compliance with program requirements.
Troubleshoot technical issues and ensure solutions meet performance and compliance standards.
Mentor junior engineers and provide technical leadership to the team.
Ensure compliance with USG export control laws and regulations.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, liberal arts, or related field; master's degree preferred.
Must have the applicable 8570 / 8140 requirements including certification for IAT Level III.
Active DoD Secret Clearance is required.
Must be able to commute to the Dahlgren, VA area on a daily basis.
10+ years of experience in systems engineering, with leadership experience in defense or high-security environments.
Expertise in system architecture, design, and integration.
Familiarity with virtualization technologies, system security, and combat system infrastructure.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a logical approach to complex challenges.
Proficiency in systems engineering tools and methodologies (e.g., DOORS, Cameo, MATLAB).
Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to manage cross-functional teams.
Background in hardware systems, software development, or security is highly desirable.
Ability to adapt to dynamic environments and manage competing priorities effectively.

In support of the U.S. Navy's PEO IWS-X initiative, the Lead Systems Engineer provides technical leadership for the design, integration, and testing of complex systems, including KVM-based virtualization, system security prototypes, and the F127 Combat System Compute Infrastructure (CI).
This role manages the full systems engineering lifecycle, defines system architecture, resolves technical issues, and mentors junior staff. Responsibilities also include integrating System Design with Foreign Military Sales (FMS) and Anti-Tamper (AT) requirements and best practices.
