Conduct factory acceptance testing (FAT) on low and medium-voltage switchgear assemblies prior to shipment.
Develop and execute test plans, procedures, and checklists based on engineering drawings, specifications, and customer requirements.
Perform electrical and functional testing, including continuity, control circuit verification.
Identify, document, and troubleshoot defects or non-conformances; work with engineering and production teams to implement corrective actions.
Review schematics, wiring diagrams, bills of materials, and layout drawings to verify accuracy and completeness.
Ensure compliance with applicable standards such as UL, IBC, ANSI, IEEE, IEC, and NETA.
Prepare detailed test reports, inspection records, and quality documentation for internal use and customer review.
Support production team by addressing technical questions during the build process.
Support customer witness testing and address technical questions during FAT.
Calibrate and maintain test equipment and ensure proper usage.
Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product quality and testing efficiency.
Work on special projects as dictated by the needs of the department.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, or a related field preferred
4+ years of experience in electrical testing in power systems, or switchgear manufacturing environments.
Minimum of 4 years of electrical troubleshooting and analytical skills.
Minimum of 4 years of experience with being able to read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation.
Minimum of 4 years of hands-on experience with testing instruments such as multimeters, insulation testers, relay test sets, and motor/generator test equipment.
Strong understanding of electrical principles, power distribution systems, and protection schemes.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
