To assist qualified mechanical artisans with maintenance, installation, and repair of machinery while gaining practical experience and completing technical training toward becoming a qualified artisan.
Responsibilities
Assist with installation and assembly of mechanical equipment and machinery.
Help perform preventive maintenance on machines and mechanical systems.
Support technicians during machine breakdowns and repairs.
Assist with dismantling, repairing, and reassembling mechanical components.
Use tools and equipment such as spanners, grinders, drills, and measuring tools.
Help inspect machines to identify wear, damage, or mechanical faults.
Read and interpret technical drawings and mechanical diagrams.
Lubricate and maintain gears, bearings, pumps, conveyors, and motors.
Maintain clean and safe work areas according to safety regulations.
Follow workplace health and safety standards.
Experience / skills required:
Grade 12 / Matric
Mathematics and Physical Science (recommended)
N2-N6 Mechanical Engineering qualification
Basic understanding of mechanical systems and tools
Ability to work in industrial environments
