Lead the development, implementation and ongoing enhancement of the Group's AI and data governance frameworks, policies and standards, ensuring alignment with industry best practices, ethical principles and applicable regulatory requirements.
Define and articulate responsible AI principles and oversee the development of supporting artefacts to enable effective operationalisation.
Oversee embedment of AI and data governance practices across the end‑to‑end data and AI lifecycle.
Perform independent Line 2 reviews and assessments of AI and data governance activities, including identification of gaps, issues and remediation.
Define and monitor governance and risk indicators (KRIs) to assess the effectiveness and adoption of AI and data governance controls, and provide independent reporting and insights to senior management.
Committee, Reporting and Secretariat works
Serve as Secretariat to the Data & AI Committee
Champion responsible AI adoption and innovation, balancing risk management with business value creation.
Act as the central Line 2 coordination point for enterprise‑wide AI and data governance activities, ensuring consistency of interpretation and application of Group standards.
Regional and industry support
Coordinate regional forums to promote consistent interpretation and adoption of AI and data governance standards across the Group.
Conduct training and awareness on AI and data related topics
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement AI governance in the Bank; provide briefings to senior management and Board risk committees; and act as a key interface with regulators (e.g. MAS) and industry bodies (e.g. ABS).
Undertake additional responsibilities and special initiatives as assigned, commensurate with the seniority of the role.
Education Requirements
University graduate in Computer Science, Data Science or a related discipline.
Preferrable having certifications in AI ethics/responsible AI, model risk management, cybersecurity, privacy (e.g., PDPA), and governance, such as:
Certified Information Privacy Manager (CIPM)
AI Governance Professional (AIGP)
Job Requirements
Minimum 7-10 years of experience in AI & data governance, risk management or related fields, preferably in banking or financial services.
Familiar with banking structure, and risk and controls concepts
Demonstrated knowledge of Singapore AI governance landscape (e.g., PDPC, MAS expectations, Model Governance) and familiarity with global frameworks, e.g., EU AI Act (preferable).
Strong stakeholder management and communication skills; able to challenge constructively and provide practical, risk-based recommendations
Ability to make decisions in line with corporate philosophy, professional ethics, compliance, risk management
Hands-on expertise with implementing/operationalizing governance programs to ensure risks are managed
