A fantastic opportunity has presented itself for a Senior Security Consultant AI reporting to Senior Manager Security Consulting within the Security Group A bit about your role The AI Senior Security Consultant is a key specialist role within the Security Consulting team, focused on shaping how nbn approaches security in an evolving AI-driven landscape. Operating at the intersection of cyber security, artificial intelligence, and enterprise transformation, this role supports some of the organisation's most emerging use cases, including Generative AI, agentic systems, AI-enabled platforms, and third-party AI services. It offers a unique opportunity to influence how AI security risks are identified, governed, and managed, while enabling the safe and effective adoption of new capabilities across the business. As part of the broader Security Group-responsible for protecting nbn's assets, maintaining customer trust, and managing risk-the role partners closely with business and technology stakeholders to embed security into solution design and delivery. The successful candidate will bring a strong blend of cyber security expertise and practical understanding of modern AI systems, applying this knowledge to assess risks, guide control implementation, and inform decision-making. This position requires the ability to navigate ambiguity, interpret emerging threats, and provide clear, pragmatic direction in a domain where standards and practices are still rapidly maturing. A bit about you The ideal candidate will hold tertiary qualifications in IT, computer science, cyber security, or a related field, with certifications such as CAISF or CAISE highly regarded. You will bring over seven years' experience in security governance, risk and compliance within large, complex environments, with a strong focus on architectural controls. A solid understanding of frameworks such as PSPF, NIST, Essential 8, and emerging AI standards (e.g., OWASP Top 10 for LLMs, NIST AI RMF), along with knowledge of evolving security threats and end-to-end security design, is essential. You will combine technical expertise with strong communication and influencing skills, including mentoring peers and engaging stakeholders to drive outcomes in ambiguous environments. The role requires the ability to deliver pragmatic recommendations, manage competing priorities, and oversee security solution delivery, while working collaboratively across a broad stakeholder landscape.
