Conduct post-offer pre-placement (POPP) evaluations, annual assessments, and periodic medical surveillance in accordance with regulatory and organizational requirements
Support return-to-work (RTW) and fitness-for-duty (FFD) processes, including clinical documentation and coordination with providers and leadership
Perform respirator fit testing and vision screening (including color vision testing) in compliance with OSHA standards
Staff Nurse I/II at Montefiore
Administer immunizations and medications per protocol; ensure appropriate documentation, patient education, and post-administration monitoring
Triage and manage work-related injuries and blood/body fluid exposures (BBPE), ensuring timely evaluation, documentation, and follow-up
Respond to urgent employee health concerns within scope and escalate appropriately when indicated
Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant documentation in EPIC and Cority, ensuring all encounters meet clinical and regulatory standards
Monitor and maintain vaccine and pharmaceutical inventory; ensure proper storage, handling, and documentation in accordance with regulatory requirements
Ensure clinical equipment is properly maintained, calibrated, and compliant with safety standards
Collaborate with physicians, nurse practitioners, operations leadership, and HR to support
employee health clearance, accommodations, and compliance workflows
Participate in health education and prevention initiatives to support workforce safety and wellness
Uphold strict confidentiality while managing sensitive employee health information
Deliver professional, respectful, and culturally competent care in all interactions
Work Environment & Expectations
High-volume, fast-paced occupational health setting supporting a large healthcare workforce
Requires the ability to manage competing priorities, time-sensitive clearances, and regulatorydriven workflows
Strong documentation and system navigation skills are essential
May require flexibility to support peak operational needs (e.g., onboarding surges, vaccination campaigns)
Requirements
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required
Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in New York State with current registration
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
Minimum of 5 years of clinical nursing experience
Prior experience in Occupational Health, Employee Health, Ambulatory Care, or a related setting required
Strong clinical assessment, critical thinking, and documentation skills
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to manage sensitive and complex situations
Experience with occupational health platforms (e.g., Cority) and EPIC EMR
Knowledge of OSHA regulations, CDC guidelines, and Department of Health (DOH) requirements
Experience managing workplace exposures, return-to-work processes, and medical surveillance programs
Demonstrated ability to navigate employee health issues requiring discretion, sound judgment, and regulatory awareness
