Electrician II is an Electrician who has field and classroom experience in either the Industrial Electrical or Instrumentation Electrical Craft. The requirement is two years of formal training, combined with on-the-job training. Course completion letters/certifications and apprenticeship hourly logs are indications of qualification. Other expectations include the ability to perform all the other duties and tasks of the other employees within the department when required or needed. The Electrician II must also be knowledgeable and capable of following and enforcing all department and plant rules, policies, and procedures. Essential Duties Responsible for day-to-day maintenance and troubleshooting of plant electrical equipment and controls. Work independently to analyze and recommend repair steps for equipment failures. Must demonstrate electrical insight when recommending repairs. Must be able to demonstrate craft knowledge and demonstrate the ability to perform critical electrical checks safely. Capable of learning new systems, supporting day-to-day electrical maintenance, and troubleshooting all electrical systems. Familiar with PLCs, RSLogics5, RSLogics500, RSLogics5000, HMI-Wonderware, Industrial Communications-Modbus, Profibus, RSLinx, ControlNet, DeviceNet, Ethernet, Simolink and Synchlink. Familiar with AC, DC, and Servo Drives-Allen Bradley, Siemens, Eurotherm, Pacific Scientific Drives. Capable of recognizing electrical hazards and selecting the correct category of PPE based on assessed energy. Help with breakdowns on both lines and auto-folding equipment. Proficient in manufacturing Start-ups and Shut-downs. Capable of learning how electrical repair parts are identified and being able to locate, requisition, and install electrical parts. Complete work orders as assigned by the Supervisor. Capable of ensuring a clean and safe workplace, mitigating hazards, and reporting uncontrolled hazards to the supervisor. Capable of entering work order status, time worked, and repair parts information into the CMMS system. Always maintains an orderly, clean, and safe working area. Perform other tasks as assigned. Qualifications Required High school graduate or equivalent experience 2+ years of industrial electrical experience. General Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Able to work under limited supervision and be self-motivated. Excellent organization skills. Ability to work well with others, at all levels of the organization. Provide a professional service and take pride in the work being performed. Maintain a clean and orderly work environment. Use proper lock-out/tag-out procedures when working on machinery or electrical systems. The ability to read and interpret electrical/mechanical diagrams, blueprints, and schematics, and service manuals for troubleshooting purposes. Work safely and efficiently and wear the required PPE/Arc Flash safety items for each particular job, must follow all plant safety procedures for electrical work. Must have knowledge of the production process. Technical Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Safely operate forklifts, scissor lifts, and aerial lifts. Be able to use a computer and enter information into CMMS. Must have clear knowledge of plant electrical distribution and lighting systems. Knowledge of the National Electrical Codes, and NFPA 70E. Identify electrical hazards and assess the correct PPE requirements. Capable of understanding electrical diagrams and schematics.
