Description of Work The Combined Records Section provides centralized oversight and management of all records for the North Carolina Department of Adult Correction (NCDAC) and the North Carolina Post-Release Supervision and Parole Commission. The section ensures efficient use of records and materials, minimizes duplication, and maintains accurate information essential to the identification, location, and supervision of individuals convicted under North Carolina law. Combined Records collaborates with law enforcement, courts, correctional agencies, and other criminal justice partners to support identification processes, statistical needs, sentence calculation, and secure recordkeeping. The Administrative Specialist I (ASI) serves as a key operational support role within Combined Records. This position ensures seamless day‑to‑day business operations, including administrative functions, procurement coordination, workspace logistics, and technical access support. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and capable of managing multiple responsibilities in a fast‑paced environment. Key Duties and Responsibilities: - Coordinate daily business operations, including workspace logistics, asset management, equipment inventory, and motor fleet assignments. - Manage procurement activities by identifying staff needs, evaluating vendors, facilitating purchases, and ensuring timely payment of authorized charges. - Provide technical access support by maintaining staff security clearances, digital profiles, and user access credentials; troubleshoot and escalate IT issues as needed. - Maintain and update administrative documents, forms, staff directories, and website content for the Combined Records section. - Deliver comprehensive administrative support, including assistance with general office management, recordkeeping, public contact, and other duties as assigned. The staff at Combined Records obtain information from a variety of sources, including the courts, the Post-Release Supervision/Parole Commission, the North Carolina Department of Justice, the Attorney General's Office, and federal, state, and county law enforcement agencies.
