Safety & Work Process Development:
Learn and apply Air Products' safety standards, high‑voltage safety practices, and commissioning procedures.
Participate in continuous improvement initiatives, helping to implement standardized work processes and industry best practices.
Support development of electrical construction packages, commissioning strategies, and documentation for work planning.
Growing Toward a Leadership Role
Assist in training and mentoring activities within the Air Products Q‑EC (qualified electrical commissioning) and instrument technician competency programs.
Support planning and coordination of FATs, equipment acceptance testing, pre‑commissioning, energization, and functional testing activities alongside senior staff.
Develop foundational understanding of high‑voltage energy isolation procedures (HVEIC), switching, and removal of isolations.
Ideal Candidate Profile
Early‑career engineer with foundational knowledge in electrical engineering, instrumentation, or controls.
Strong interest in industrial electrical construction, commissioning, and developing leadership capabilities.
Exposure to or interest in industrial sectors such as gases, oil & gas, power, chemical, or similar process industries.
Commitment to safety, quality, technical learning, and professional growth.
Minimum Hiring Requirements:
Minimum of 5 years (total) of high voltage electrical field, design, and engineering experience.
An Electrical Engineering degree is required.
Proven experience with electrical construction management, inspection, electrical acceptance testing, electrical commissioning & functional testing, and equipment energization
Familiar with instrument construction management, instrument acceptance testing (loop checking), instrument and controls commissioning, functional testing, and validation, and equipment energization
Proven record of success in safety, environmental, quality and employee involvement.
Strong dedication to employee involvement, leadership, team building and diversity.
Approximately 35-60% travel to active sites, projects, and equipment inspections/FATs.

Reporting to the Global HYCO Director of Commissioning and Startup, the Junior Electrical & Instrumentation (E&I) Engineer will support commissioning and start‑up activities for industrial capital projects of varying scale. This role provides hands‑on experience with electrical and instrumentation systems while building the technical depth and leadership capability needed to advance into supervisory positions.
